One thing I learned recently was that the only person who can control a situation and how you respond to it, is YOU.
I know that sounds insanely simple, but I suppose the best things in life are. At the same time, one of the hardest lessons I will learn.
It’s about digesting what is happening around you, why you are reacting the way you are, and understanding how to deal with a person or situation that is causing that turmoil. Seek out those who add to your life, not detract. Anything that makes you sad, anxious, frustrated, needs to be let go. As hard as it is, you know in your gut that it will be the right thing to do.
Another lesson I learned a few years back was that the right decision is always the hardest. It’s the one that challenges you to change, think differently, look upon from another perspective.
Change is hard. Life is hard. The real question I pose to myself today is….why make it harder for myself than it already is?
Bathe in those who lift you up, provide comfort, strength, beauty and give you courage.
If you’re searching for that one person to change your life, take a look in the mirror.
